Jeff Bridges revives music career with new album (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) ? Add Jeff Bridges to the long list of Hollywood actors who fancy themselves rock stars.

He convincingly played a washed-up country singer in "Crazy Heart," winning an Oscar last year. In real life, Bridges is just as credible promoting his first album for a major label.

He took the stage at the Troubadour nightclub in Los Angeles on Tuesday to perform an hourlong set of folk-oriented material drawn mostly from his self-titled release, due out August 16 through Blue Note Records.

"This is surreal, man," he said. "This is very rewind."

Indeed, the 61-year-old actor is no newbie on the music scene, and the album is no vanity project. He recalled that the last time he played the hallowed venue was during a "hootenanny" in his early teens.

He went on to collaborate with film composer Quincy Jones, who introduced him at Tuesday's industry showcase and described the young Bridges as "stone Haight-Ashbury," a reference to the then-prevailing hippie scene.

While Hollywood beckoned in the form of a breakthrough role in the 1971 film "The Last Picture Show," Bridges found an outlet for his musical talents in such films as 1989's "The Fabulous Baker Boys." He also recorded an album, "Be Here Soon," for an independent label in 2001.

His turn in "Crazy Heart" as whiskey-swilling Bad Blake brought him a whole new level of musical recognition. The producer of that film's soundtrack, his long-time friend T-Bone Burnett, also produced the new album. Bridges wrote two of the album's 10 tracks himself.

He appeared to be having fun on stage, at one point treating the crowd to a funny anecdote about filming "Heaven's Gate" as he tried to tune his guitar before giving up and handing it to his roadie.

Backed by a four-man band, and alternating between an acoustic and electric guitar, Bridges played a mix of songs from the new album and from the "Crazy Heart" soundtrack. Some were funereal, like the new "Slow Boat." Others were more rockabilly like the "Crazy Heart" tune "Somebody Else."

"I wish my mom and dad could be here tonight," he said, referring to late acting couple Dorothy and Lloyd Bridges. "They would have dug this a lot."

But he had plenty of support from his family, including his wife of 34 years Sue, to whom he dedicated a cover of Bob Dylan's love song "The Man in Me," and elder brother Beau. Hollywood stars in the crowd included Pierce Brosnan, Ryan Reynolds and Olivia Wilde.

NXDNTM Forum Expands NXDN Technical Standards | Public Safety ...

Suwanee, GA ? June 24, 2011 ? The Chair of the NXDNTM Forum announces the expansion of the technical standards with the adoption of a second trunking protocol.

This important expansion to the suite of NXDN? specifications now provides two types of trunking protocols for the ultimate flexibility in satisfying market and end user narrow band digital radio system needs.

The designators for these two trunking protocols have been established as follows:

Type-C NXDN? Trunking:
This is the original NXDN? trunking protocol based on a dedicated control channel logic architecture.

Type-D NXDN? Trunking:
This is the newly adopted NXDN? trunking protocol, and is based on distributed logic architecture. (No dedicated control channel required)

NXDN? now provides the two most common trunking architectures? available worldwide under a common standard, the application and potential reach of NXDN technology has effectively doubled, with the following merits available.

  • NXDN? now offers two trunking protocols under the NXDN? umbrella. This provides the advantage and flexibility for NXDN? Forum member companies and ultimately end users to choose the system solution that best suits their narrow banding and target market needs.
  • Both protocols will be managed by the NXDN? Forum ensuring interoperability and maintenance of each protocol going forward.
  • There will be interoperability between vendors of the trunking protocol they adopt.
  • Both protocols meet the FCC narrowbanding mandate, and thus system operators and end users who adopt NXDN? trunking will be in a position to be narrow band ready for the 2013 deadline and beyond.
  • Changes in frequency coordination and narrow band licensing rules are being proposed to allow smoother integration of new 6.25 kHz systems and the use of two 6.25 kHz channels in a 12.5 kHz channel. Upon ratification, this will allow the full advantages of using the 5,000 6.25 kHz VHF/UHF channels already allocated in the LMR band plan.

With over 80,000 FCC licenses already allocated for NXDN? systems, this additional trunking capability is an exciting new dimension to this rapidly growing market standard for next generation digital two-way radio communications.

Zoologger: The first non-human meat farmers | Journal of ...

Species: Melissotarsus insularis and three other Melissotarsus species

Habitat: Down on the farm under the bark of African trees, particularly in Madagascar.

Lots of ants practise a rudimentary form of agriculture. Some are gardeners, gathering leaf fragments on which they cultivate a crop of tasty fungus. Others are dairymaids, ?milking? the sweet excretion known as honeydew from aphids, scale insects and other related insects.

But the Melissotarsus ants of continental Africa and Madagascar are special. If biologists? best guess proves correct, these ants raise their insect herds for meat, not milk ? the first example of meat farmers other than humans. And that?s not all. The insects they cultivate may be the best example of true domestication outside of our crop plants.

You have to know what you?re looking for to even see Melissotarsus. The ants ? barely 3 millimetres long ? live most of their lives within the intricate gallery systems they excavate in and under the bark of trees. They?re such committed burrowers that their second pair of legs points up, not down, so they can get a foothold in the tunnel roof as well as the floor. They share their galleries with several species of armoured scale insects, so-called because most species secrete a tough, waxy scale that covers and protects them.

But the ants? charges aren?t paying for their keep in the usual way, with honeydew. In fact, they apparently lack a complete gut and thus are incapable of making the stuff. Nor are the ants nibbling at the waxy scale ? the scale insects tended by the ants, despite their name, have no scale, and some even lack the wax glands needed to produce it. ?Armoured scales just don?t seem to be equipped to produce an exudate that?s enough to satisfy an ant,? says Scott Schneider, an entomologist at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Savour the flavour

So what do the ants get from all their work housing and protecting the scale insects? Almost the only remaining possibility is that the ants sometimes make a meal of the insects themselves, Schneider reported at a recent meeting of the Society for the Study of Evolution in Norman, Oklahoma. No one has yet caught Melissotarsus in mid-munch, partly because the ants like their privacy and quickly seal off any peepholes into their galleries. Next year, however, Schneider will measure stable isotopes in the ants? bodies, which will indicate whether their diet is mostly plant or animal in origin.

If the ants are indeed eating the scale insects, they may have selected livestock that lack the hard, inedible scale because it makes them easy to eat. In paralleling what humans have done in breeding their crop plants ? corn, for example, is much less armoured than its ancestor, teosinte ? the ants may have created the clearest case of domestication ever seen in non-human animals, says Schneider.

The view from St Petersburg: Timothy Draper ? RT

Timothy Draper, founder of global venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson, answers RT Business questions at the Petersburg Economic Foum

(13.7Mb) embed video

With economic leaders gathering for the Petersburg International Economic Forum Business RT spoke with Timothy Draper, founder of global venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson about the importance of the forum and the economic outlook.

RT:How important do you think this forum is for your company?

TD:?For our company it?s a mission. We are in the business of spreading entrepreneurship and venture capital wherever we go.I grew up in the Silicon Valley where it was just orchards of Apricots, and now it has grown into the centre of economic development. And I watched that grow and so I see actually how that can happen and try to build ecosystems. So I think this is very important, very exciting, and I love that all the people in Russia, all the government officials, and all the businesses are all trying to get together and make this thing happen.?

RT:Do you think the investment climate has improved in Russia and if so how do you find doing business?

TD:?Oh yes! I think the business climate has improved. It started from a bad place, I mean 75 years where and entrepreneur, it was illegal to be an entrepreneur in Russia, has to be overcome now.And now that Russia understands that they need to compete for the great minds, the capital and the businesses of the world, they are doing a very good job of it. Russia is full of brilliant minds, and I think those minds are going to start to really flourish in the years to come.?

RT:Now you have a history of investing in tech stocks and IPOs in that area, do you think that with Yandex having an IPO, and Mail.ru having an IPO, do you think that tech stocks are something that has a future in Russia?

TD:?Absolutely, I think this is a great time for Russia ? both for the me too tech stocks like Yandex and Mail.ru, but also I think for companies that are started with real Russian technology, where Russian technology and entrepreneurs can spread to the rest of the world.Right now most of the big successes are copies of US developments, but I think there is a great future.?

RT:What investments are you looking at in Russia currently?

TD:?Well we actually have seen some meetings. A couple of Groupon knock offs and seen some new technologies that have come out of Russia that look very promising, that might turn into businesses.Right now they are technologies without a mission, but it looks like they might turn into some good businesses. We are quite happy with the entrepreneurial instinct that we have seen in Russia.?

RT:What other sectors would you consider people looking at in Russia?

TD:?Well, we?re right now, working on doing a deal with VTB bank and Rosnano to do a nanotech fund that will be focused on nanotech and other basic technologies, but then would turn into businesses. So that?s kind of what we are focused on while we are here.?

Description:?

Charlotte?s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she?s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what?s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need?a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.

There have been others before who?ve felt the Need, but they?re gone?erased from the memories of everyone whose lives they had touched. It's as though they never existed. This is the fate that awaits Charlotte. But the last thing Charlotte wants to do is disappear, to be Forgotten. She wants to stay with her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend?s arms forever. She wishes she could just ignore the Need, but she can?t. And as everyone important in her life begins to slowly forget her, she has to decide if she?ll fight the Need in order to remain herself?no matter how dark the consequences.

This cover and title fit this book so perfect.? The entire story was just beautiful and my connection with the characters was complete.? When I put this book down I was just thinking WOW.? How in the world did she pull that off?!? The entire story is so completely different from anything I've read, but it was all perfect how she put it together and it all played out.??

This story is beautiful in so many ways.? About how and why Charlotte is what she is.? Why she does what she does.? And how it's almost impossible to understand and accept, but we are right there with Charlotte through it all.? She has the Need before the story starts but she doesn't know what it is or why she has it.? It isn't until a little ways in that she learns more and about the tough decision she must make.??

I loved Charlotte, and I understood her emotions she was going through in the book.? I felt so bad for her having to face those important decisions and having to deal with all she had to deal with.? But she was so brave and accepting of things even when she didn't want to.? She saw how she helped people, how what she did was good.

The romance was fantastic.? I loved that her and Harlin had been a couple for a couple years before the book started so their romance wasn't a budding romance, or an insta-love connection.? It was something that had grown and developed over time and their love connection seemed real and really quite perfect.? I thought Harlin was a fantastic character and I just wish we had seen him more.

Minimum wage 'hinders disabled'

Philip DaviesMr Davies said the minimum wage was often a "hindrance" to people with disabilities

A Conservative MP has suggested "vulnerable" jobseekers - including disabled people - should be allowed to work for less than the minimum wage.

Backbencher Philip Davies said firms were likely to favour someone without disabilities if they had to pay everyone the same basic salary.

He said politicians should "not stand in the way" of anyone willing to work for lower pay in such a situation.

But mental health charity Mind said it was a "preposterous suggestion".

Mr Davies, the MP for Shipley, made the comments during a debate in the Commons over the minimum wage and employment opportunities.

The minimum wage is currently £5.93 an hour for those over 21, £4.92 for those aged between 18 and 20 and £3.64 for 16 and 17 year olds.

The MP claimed the most vulnerable, including those with learning disabilities and mental health problems, were disadvantaged in their search for work because they had to compete with candidates without disabilities and could not offer to accept lower pay.

“If an employer is looking at two candidates, one who has got disabilities and one who hasn't, and they have got to pay them both the same rate, I invite you to guess which one the employer is more likely to take on”

Philip Davies Tory MP for Shipley

They were desperate to work but continually found the "door was being closed in their face", he argued.

He said he had talked to people with mental health problems during a visit to a surgery run by the charity Mind, and they had "accepted" that they would be passed over in favour of other jobseekers in such a situation.

"Given that some of those people with a learning disability clearly, by definition, cannot be as productive in their work as somebody who has not got a disability of that nature, then it was inevitable that given the employer was going to have to pay them both the same they were going to take on the person who was going to be more productive, less of a risk and that was doing those people a huge disservice," he said.

He continued: "My view is that for some people, the national minimum wage may be more of a hindrance than a help.

"If those people who consider it is being a hindrance to them, and in my view that's some of the most vulnerable people in society, if they feel that for a short period of time, taking a lower rate of pay to help them get on their first rung of the jobs ladder, if they judge that that is a good thing, I don't see why we should be standing in their way."

Mr Davies was immediately challenged over his remarks by fellow Tory MP Edward Leigh who told him: "Forget the fact there is a minimum wage for a moment. Why actually should a disabled person work for less than £5.93 an hour. It is not a lot of money, is it?"

He replied that, irrespective of whether it was "right or wrong", that was "just the real world that we operate in".

"If an employer is looking at two candidates, one who has got disabilities and one who hasn't, and they have got to pay them both the same rate, I invite you to guess which one the employer is more likely to take on," he added.

He added that he was concerned that obligations on employers to pay the minimum wage was preventing people from "being given the opportunity to get the first rung on the employment ladder".

But Mind spokesman Sophie Corlett said: "It is a preposterous suggestion that someone who has a mental health problem should be prepared to accept less than minimum wage to get their foot in the door with an employer.

"People with mental health problems should not be considered a source of cheap labour and should be paid appropriately for the jobs they do."

She said employers should be educated about mental health problems, adding that more than 50% of people with mental health problems lived on weekly household income of less than £200.

The minimum wage will increase to £6.08 for workers aged 21 and over from October and to £4.98 and £3.68 respectively for younger workers.

Mr Davies, who is on the right of the Conservative Party, has a history of defying his party leadership on a range of issues issues including Europe, foreign aid and sentencing.

Europe Ahead: Mixed market sentiment fuels the relief rally as focus ok U.K. jobs and debt sales that will temper gains

The market sentiment remains mixed and trading is still choppy, as last week?s losses were followed by a relief rally with the start of the week and likely not to be sustained as the focus is on the upsides while the negative pressures continue to rise.

We saw investors react positively to data from Chine yesterday as the May industrial production slowed by less than expectations and retail sales slowed slightly, and for once, investors did not focus on the 5.5% rally in inflation, the predominant concern for the nation and the globe! The hours proved us only right as the relief rally was not much troubled with the PBoC?s decision to raise the reserve requirements yet again!

The sentiment continued into the European session and sterling held its grounds and continued the correction after inflation remained steady in May at 4.5% in line with expectations. The data were alarming to me, especially with the drop in core inflation, assuring that food and energy prices remain the eminent pressure and that the sluggish domestic recovery and rising capacity is pressuring prices, yet the headline is not moving and that is worrisome as growth is rapidly slowing.

Data today from the United Kingdom is expected to reflect more weakness with rising jobless claims by 6.5 thousand following April?s 12.4 thousand. Unemployment in the three months through April is expected to have held high at 7.7% assuring the soft economic status in the United Kingdom.

Is the market flowing its course its week, surely not on fundamentals, yet on the relief needed as the general outlook has not concretely changed for us to say OPTIMISM is back!

We can see some sense returning to the market and the losses for the sterling on the weak news and for the euro on the debt crisis are likely to return. The volatility remains high and the euro rose to compensate some of the losses as the debt crisis outlook has not changed with no new resolution on the Greek aid.

The euro rose on the successful debt sales in the area from Greece and Spain yesterday, especially as they followed S&P?s move to slash Greek debt rating to the lowest in the world citing heightened likelihood for default, as they expect unfavorable terms in the new bailout and any swap or bond maturities extension will also account as default!

We have a busy day ahead of us today, especially with the United States taking the lead with heavy data from inflation to industrial figures that shall keep the markets on the edge all day.

We will keep our eyes yet focused on the UK jobs figures and the EU finance chiefs as they discuss the Greek bailout on hopes they can stem the rift with Germany and indeed limit the involvement of the private sector to ?voluntary? and favorable basis.

It?s hard to live up to the demands of fans and reviewers when the first game in a series is a hit. Sucker Punch pulled it off with the sequel to 2009?s inFamous. Fans will not disappointed with the continuation of Cole McGrath fight to defeat the Beast that?s threatening his world.

0 Review: inFAMOUS 2

?I like the pretty lights??

The first thing you?ll notice is the improvement Sucker Punch has made aesthetically. ?New Marais is not only prettier, but more alive than Empire City. ?Each section of the city has its own look and vibe, mimicking some of the wards of New Orleans, including Floodtown, a post disaster section where there is more water than ground. ?Character animations have been improved as well, smoothing Cole?s motions as he races and blasts his way through the city. ?Missing the mark is the music or lack thereof. ?At certain points in the game you?ll hear the accompanying soundtrack, but for a majority of the game your ears will be jealous of your eyes. ?I felt that they missed the chance to add in music that would have fit the New Orleans-esque cityscape. ?You?ll also notice some interesting movie names in some of the red light districts (Hey ? Low Reach, Latch It And Skank, and Epic Hickey) adding a sense of humor (and nods to other games) to the story.

Characters, Karma, and Connections

The character of Cole McGrath was an improvement over many other superheroes. ?He balanced the fine line of being all powerful and a lowly human. ?While having Olympian god-like powers, he still is very vulnerable to attacks, has a major weakness, and displays the morality that a person should have. ?inFamous 2 finds Cole more mature ? and comfortable in his role and powers ? than the first game, leading to a deeper connection to him. ?He also gets some new powers and, thanks to Zeke, a better melee mechanic. ?You can now easily bash heads in with the Amp. ?It?s great in close quarters when lightning just won?t cut it. ?As you progress, Cole becomes more powerful, leading to some abilities that we wished were in the first game (like tethers, rockets, and different types of lightning bolts). ?The only complaint about Cole is his voice. ?The voice acting in the game is pretty darn good, but Eric Ladin just didn?t seem to fit the character. ?Sucker Punch explained that the first voice actor didn?t fit the with motion capture and action vibe they wanted.? We?ll let them slide this time.

Grinding, fastest way out of trouble

Back is the karma ?system. ?While this does invest you in the storyline, it does not live up to its full potential. ?Unlike inFamous, there are no gray areas (perhaps the last choice you?ll make could be a bit gray). ?Your actions are either good or bad, the end. ?Even if you accidentally kill the civilians you?re trying to rescue, you did try, so kudos for you, you?re considered good. ?It also unlocks powers for Cole based on your moral standing. ?It is impossible to go both ways in one play through, leaving the game open to a whole new experience the second time around.

Zeke is back in his wise-cracking, but mostly helpful buddy role and the addition of two new characters Agent Kuo and Nix widen the storyline. ?These two help you along the way, but are opposite sides of the moral choices that you make during the game. ?Think of them as the angel and devil on your shoulder. ?One will help make you the hero of New Marais, the other will make you infamous.

i2 ScreenShot Cole Nix 570x427 Review: inFAMOUS 2

Nix, the devil on your shoulder

The Electric Glide

The gameplay hasn?t deviated much between inFamous and inFamous 2, which is a good thing. ?New Marais? expanded and varying wards allow the parkour elements of the game to shine through. ?Whether you?re scaling the buildings to reach that blast shard, zipping between power lines carrying an overcharge, or jumping and gliding through water logged street, the parkour feels natural to the surroundings, not something added in because it is popular. However, there are some elements to the game that can make playing it frustrating. ?The controls are another aspect that Sucker Punch brought over, but it?s not a good thing, especially with the importance of the parkour elements. ?You can get stuck under elements; push the stick one way, but Cole decides that he?d rather go the other, sometimes bringing you into the line of fire. ?Combat is great when lobbing thunderbolts at enemies, but when using the Amp, the camera goes into cinematic view making it hard to aim.

My biggest complaints are with the fights. ?While there is more variety in the baddies (a very good thing), boss level enemies are thrown in with normal level enemies randomly, and sometimes in overwhelming numbers. ?It can lead to a lot of frustratingly quick deaths. ?While harnessing the powers of Zeus, Cole is still fleshy; bullets and rockets tend to rip him apart easily. ?This, coupled with the slow life regeneration system, can make a mission exasperating. ?Like many games, Sucker Punch moved away from the health bar to a screen effect for damage. ?The problem with this is that the graying effect makes it very hard to see and you end up dying from the lack of visuals. ?Not being able to tell where water (water+electricity=dead) or bad guys are can lead to a very short life expectancy for the electric man.

i2 ScreenShot Cole Float 570x427 Review: inFAMOUS 2

The Electric Glide

Side quests are still a big part of the game. ?While theoretically you could play the game without doing a single one, they add to your experience and karma, which allows you to purchase some pretty awesome powers. ?Side quests are a bit more varied than the first game, but after a while, they get monotonous. ?Perhaps the User-Generated Content (UGC) will help alleviate some of the boredom. ?As of this review, the only UGC in the game were created by Sucker Punch, but there is some real potential for electrifying (pun intended) missions from the community.

For those of you who played the first game, Sucker Punch has added in a bonus. ?You?re able to import the save, which?brings over some of your karma and blast shards. ?This doesn?t affect the gameplay much, so don?t worry if you haven?t played inFamous.

Final Thoughts

Sequels can be scary things for gamers to shell out their hard earned cash for. ?If you loved the first, then there is a huge expectation for that second game. ?Thank you, Sucker Punch, for not totally disappointing us. ?inFamous 2 is a worthy successor to inFamous. ?The storyline, graphics, and overall gameplay more than make up for the control issues and bad visual cues. ?If you?re looking for a game with a great single player campaign, multiple playthroughs, and ever-expanding missions, inFamous 2 should be at the top of your PS3 list.

i2 ScreenShot pulse 570x427 Review: inFAMOUS 2

I've got your pulse right here

Sidenote: inFamous 2 also includes early access to the Uncharted 3 beta, but you shouldn?t just buy it for that. ?It?s worth the money on it?s own.

Editor?s Note: Single Player played to completion on the PS3.? This title was provided for review by Sony.

Aaron Rome regrets little about hit

Vancouver defenseman Aaron Rome wouldn?t change much about the hit on the Bruins [team stats]? Nathan Horton that got him suspended for the rest of the Stanley Cup finals.

Rome spoke yesterday for the first time about his finals-record four-game suspension after skating with the Canucks in practice heading into Game 6 tonight at the Garden.

?I?ve got to play on the edge, and I guess that was a little bit over the edge,? Rome said.

While Rome has sympathy for Horton, who?s out for the series with a concussion, he doesn?t feel he did anything extraordinarily dangerous in their fast, hard-hitting sport when he flattened Horton early in Game 3 last week. Rome said he sent a text message to Horton, but hadn?t heard back.

?It?s a split-second decision,? Rome said. ?There?s no intent to hurt anybody. If I could go back, obviously I?d wish he didn?t get hurt, but I don?t think I?d change the decision on the play.?

Rome delivered his hit after Horton made a pass near the blue line, leaving the Bruins forward unconscious on the ice. Horton left the building on a stretcher, and the B?s rode a wave of emotion to consecutive victories at home.

While Rome was vilified in Boston, his teammates jumped to his defense, claiming a four-game ban was excessive and unprecedented. Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault thought the hit was late, but remained supportive of Rome.

Although Rome?s ban is four times longer than any suspension handed out in finals history, he hasn?t appealed it, hinting that he feels such a move is pointless. Rome said the NHL?s suspension criteria were ?arbitrary,? and he doesn?t understand why the league ended his chance to skate for the Stanley Cup after a hit he believes was barely illegal.

?I?ve got to step up. I?ve got to be physical,? Rome said. ?That?s just part of my game. There has to be some accountability on the part of the player skating with the puck up the middle of the ice, maybe with his head down, not looking. If I had been half a second earlier, a quarter of a second earlier, I probably wouldn?t be in this situation.?

WR Britt faces 2 arrest warrants in Tennessee (AP)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. ? Titans receiver Kenny Britt has two arrest warrants outstanding in Tennessee, and he is suspected of providing inaccurate information on two separate driver's license applications.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol issued the arrest warrants April 14. Spokeswoman Dayla Qualls confirmed Monday to The Associated Press that the THP is investigating an issue on Britt's driver's license applications. Spokesman Don Aaron said Monday the Nashville Police Department has the warrants that allege inaccurate information was provided on the applications.

"Upon his return to Tennessee, it is believed or hoped that he will come surrender himself on these and be served," Aaron said. "If he does not, upon his return to the state he is subject to arrest."

The Tennessean first reported the arrest warrants.

Attorney Jonathan Farmer said Britt will be in Tennessee soon to deal with these warrants, which involve misdemeanor charges.

"We take it seriously, and we want to get it addressed and resolved as quickly as possible," the attorney said. "When he gets back to town, we plan on doing just that."

Britt said last August after being stopped by Nashville police for darkly tinted car windows that he had lost his driver's license, which he later found and forgot to tell state officials.

This is yet another incident with police for the 2009 first-round draft pick out of Rutgers.

He was arrested June 8 in Hoboken, N.J., after two detectives suspected he was carrying a marijuana cigar. Police did not recover the cigar or find any drugs on Britt, who was charged obstructing the administration of the law, resisting arrest and tampering with or fabricating evidence. He was released and faces a June 16 court date.

That arrest came a day after he pleaded guilty to separate motor vehicle violations related to an April 12 arrest on speeding charges in his hometown of Bayonne. Britt initially faced felony charges before prosecutors dropped them, citing his lack of a criminal record.

Britt also was arrested last year for arrested last year for three outstanding traffic tickets and accused of not paying a bail bond he helped secure for a friend. He was accused of accused of being involved in a bar fight Oct. 22 in Nashville, but authorities later decided not to charge him.
