SEVERE WEATHER RISK THIS AFTERNOON, INCREASES THIS EVENING

The Storm Prediction Center has put north Texas in a moderate risk of severe weather today. The primary threat is damaging winds and large hail. WARM AND HUMID: FUEL FOR THE AFTERNOON STORMS

The sun has come out in the metro area and temperatures are in the mid-70?s. Winds are out of the SSE and gusting up to 40 mph. Dewpoints are in the mid-60?s. Basically we are awaiting the line out west to reach the moisture laden air that is sitting over us. ?The storms are currently just to our west and starting to move toward us. THIS AFTERNOON THE STORMS WILL ARRIVE IN THE METRO.

We expect another round later tonight?with some better upper-air support moves across north Texas.

Then we expect a front to give us yet another round of heavier rain early morning tomorrow. ?

There should be some activity start up ahead of the line. We are keeping a close watch on this; these storms could produce severe weather.

TORNADO RISK

There is a slight risk of Tornadoes today as well. Again, here is the SPC showing a 10 percent chance of a tornado occurring within 25 miles of your home.?tonado risk Severe Weather Threat Throughout The Day

FLASH FLOOD WATCH THROUGH TOMORROW NIGHT

We expect a round of severe weather this afternoon and evening. Overnight and early tomorrow there is a high risk of flooding. As much as 4?-6? of rain could fall in our eastern counties and in the northeast:
